Why I choose FRANKiE4 Footwear shoes for summer
I first started wearing FRANKiE4 Footwear shoes around 3 years ago and my summer shoe collection includes sandals, sneakers and slides. I also have several pairs of ankle boots for cooler weather. I started wearing these shoes because I needed orthotic friendly shoes, but I didn’t want to compromise on style.
Of course in summer I don’t wear my orthotics every day because it gets way too hot, which is all the more reason to wear sandals that have great support. That means podiatrist recommended shoes, and when it comes to this brand you are buying shoes that are designed by a podiatrist and physiotherapist.
Having said that, you will often still find me in sneakers in summer because my high arches demand the extra support that my orthotics provide. I have also learned that good footwear is essential to preventing falls, so you won’t find me out and about in rubber flip flops.
My FRANKiE4 Footwear summer favourites
I work from home so my style is generally casual and I also have a dodgy ankle so I only wear high heels on very special occasions – when there is no walking involved and I am and mostly sitting down.
My favourites this summer have been a mix of sandals, slides and sneakers; mostly flat but I do have one pair of sandals with a low block heel. They are the lovely WiLLOW which I am wearing below in White, but which also come in Black, Tan and Metallic. These are the perfect height for me and the block heel adds stability. I can feel dressed up without feeling as though I am going to roll my ankle.
My other favourite this summer has been my NATs in Cream. These are my go to shoes when I need to wear my orthotics but don’t want a heavy looking shoe. You could say I mostly live in them when I am out and about.
Whilst we are on the subject of sneakers (of which there are several FRANKiE4 Footwear styles), let’s talk about the concept of sneakers with dresses. If you are my age or older you may struggle with this idea, I did. But as I watched younger women wear this mix with pizzazz I asked myself why I wouldn’t give it a go, and now it is a favourite style combo – remember it’s important to try something new every now and again.

You will be totally spoilt for choice with lots of gorgeous summer sandals, here are a few that have taken my eye.
BLOSS is a gorgeous flat sandal which also comes in Black Leopard or Rose Gold leather – something for every occasion. BLOSS would work equally as well with a floaty caftan as with a pair of shorts – definitely one to add to your tropical holiday suitcase.
Other options are BETTY and the always popular MADDiE, as well as new addition JANE and the very cool looking ZOE. All these sandals have the built-in functional footbed for extra comfort and support. You can look fabulous without wanting to rush home and take off your shoes.
How about some comfortable slides?
I am the happy owner of a pair of HiLARY slides which are my alternative to rubber flip flops. With the functional footbed built in cork, and topped with soft latex, I find my HiLARYs have over time moulded around my food for extra comfort and a really personalised fit. Sneakers, or kicks, are my year round favourite shoe – great for travel and equally stylish with shorts, jeans or a dress. And of course they are orthotic friendly.
